A Senior Downsizing and Transition Specialist helps older adults and their families plan and manage the process of selling a longtime family home and transitioning into a smaller, more manageable living space — or into a senior living community such as independent living, assisted living, or memory care.
They coordinate every step: decluttering and sorting belongings, pricing and selling the home, connecting families with trusted movers, estate sale professionals, and senior living placement advisors. Unlike a general real estate agent, a Senior Downsizing Specialist understands the emotional weight of leaving a home someone has lived in for 20, 30, or 40 years.

In short, no. SRES is a designation offered through National Association of Realtors. It is a two day course on working with the senior demographic and things an agent should know. Currently it is said that between 14000 and 15000 agents nationally have SRES. CSHP is a much more detailed course on not only the logistics of selling a home but also the emotional process . Often looked at as the “Master Class” when it comes to working with seniors. There are currently only 158 agents nationally that have this certification. I am one of 6 in Houston!
